G7 to reduce dependence on Russian energy keeping climate goals

MOSCOW, Jun 28 (PRIME) -- The G7 countries have declared their commitment to reduce dependence on Russian energy without hurting their climate goals, the group said in a statement following a summit on Tuesday.

“We reaffirm our commitment to phase out our dependency on Russian energy, without compromising on our climate and environmental goals,” the G7 said in a statement.

The G7 countries will take urgent measures to ensure energy supplies and reduce price rises due to market conditions, including through "price caps," the G7 summit communique read.
